In 2 months of the heaviest escalation within “Putin – Erdogan” area, the regime and the Russians carry out about 45000 air and ground strikes, along with the attrition battles have killed about 2080 people and forced more than 450000 civilians to flee

The heaviest escalation ever completed its second consecutive day within “Putin – Erdogan” area, which stretches from the northeastern mountains of Latakia, passing through the countryside of Hama and Idlib until the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city, while the massacres against civilians decreased slightly during the second month in exchange of the attrition battles in the countryside of Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, especially the battles of the 3 villages (Kafrhoud – Tal Meleh – al-Jabin) in addition to al-Jalma village at the northwestern countryside of Hama, which killed and injured hundreds of the regime forces, the factions, and the jihadi groups, but the slight decrease in massacres against civilians have not prevented the continuation of disasters and human tragedy, caused by the Russian guarantor and the regime of Bashar al-Assad, through their warplanes, helicopters, and ground shelling, amid shameful silence by the Turkish “guarantor” who provoked irony by running patrols and entering military columns to its 12 points scattered in the countryside of Hama, Idlib, and Aleppo, as the Russians and the regime are carrying out massacres against the Syrian people, kill, and displace them, in addition to destroying the infrastructure and property of citizens, the Turkish silence continued despite the loss of 3 soldiers during this month as a result of regime forces’ shelling that targeted the Turkish point in Shir Mghar, and the Turkish response was shy with some of shells that targeted regime forces’-controlled areas in Hama countryside.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the period between the 30th of May 2019, until the evening of the 30th of June 2019, about 4630 airstrikes carried out by regime’s warplanes and helicopters, and warplanes of the Russian “guarantor” targeted mountains of the coast, the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, Idlib countryside, in addition to the western and southern countryside of Aleppo, where the largest share of it was by the regime’s warplanes which carried out 3035 raids loaded with high-explosive missiles as well as hundreds of targeting by heavy machineguns, followed by regime’s helicopters which dropped more than 812 barrel bombs, while warplanes of the Russian “guarantor” carried out at least 780 airstrikes, also the Syrian Observatory monitored more than 18030 ground strikes that varied between mortar, artillery, and rocket shells, in addition to short-range ground-to-ground missiles, while the Jihadi groups and factions targeted with thousands of missile strikes regime forces’-controlled areas in Hama, Latakia, Aleppo, and Idlib, in addition to carrying out during this month 4 attacks by drones and missiles, targeting the main Russian military base in Syria, Hmeimim Airbase.

The second month of the heaviest escalation witnessed major attrition clashes in areas northwest of Hama, Mountains of the coast, and the southern countryside of Idlib, through which the factions managed to control the villages of Tal Meleh and al-Jabin northwest of Hama on the 6 of June 2019, which enabled them to close the strategic highway of al-Suqaylabiyah  – Muhradah, and the regime forces failed to restore both villages despite thousands of air and ground strikes and large Russian support for them, while the regime forces still control more than 20 areas in Hama and Idlib countryside, they are al-Qassabiyyeh, Humayrat, al-Hardana, al-Qaroutiyyah, Qiratah, Qal’aat al-Madiq, al-Karakat, Twinah, Kafr Nabudah, al-Bana, Tal Osman, al-Mestriha, al-Sharia, Bab al-Taqa, al-Jabriya, Tal Hawash, al-Tawba, Sheikh Idris, al-Muhajreen, al-Hamraa, and Hwaiz,.

Also the heaviest escalation displaced more than 450  civilians from their homes and areas, against the backdrop of the barbaric shelling by the Russians and the regime, where large part of them stayed out in the open in neighboring agricultural lands, others displaced to their relatives deep in Idlib and the northern and northwestern countryside of Aleppo, and others resorted to the border camps near Iskenderun, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that 17 hospitals and health centers have gotten out of services, the majority of them have gotten out of service due to Russian strikes, and they are: Kiwan hospital in Kafr Aweed, the hospitals of al-Sham Central Hospital, Kafr Nubl Surgical Hospital, al-Sayyidah Mariam, al-Khatib, the Orient in Kafr Nubl, Nabd al-Hayat Hospital in Hass, al-Tah Hospital, Sarja Hospital, Hospital 112 in Qal’aat al-Madiq, al-Maghara Hospital and Sham Hospital in al-Lataminah town, as well as health centers in Kafr Nabudah, Ma’aret Hurmah, al-Hbit and al-Rakaya, while the Syrian Observatory documented the use of internationally forbidden materials by the regime forces during their ground bombardment, which burned thousands of dunums within the southern and western agricultural lands of Khan Shaykhun city, al-Hbit, Abdeen, outskirts of Kafrsajna, Kafr Ain, and other areas within the southern sector of Idlib countryside, and Hersh al-Skibiyyeh, Tal Hadaya, and IKARDA in the southern countryside of Aleppo, in addition to al-Lataminah in the northern countryside of Hama, as well as the looting operations by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the areas they controlled through robbing houses, shops, and crops of civilians.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 2079, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 30th of June 2019, and they are: 534 civilians including 134 children and 105 citizen women, and they are 58 including 18 children and 16 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 43 including 9 women and 5 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 325 including 86 children, 60 women, and 4 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 71 people including 11 women and 9 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 37 citizens including 16 children and 8 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 838 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling including 540 of the Jihadis, in addition to the killing of 707 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

We at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights call on the General Assembly of the United Nations to issue an immediate decision to stop the military operations of the Russian aerial bombardment and shelling by the regime forces and their warplanes on the “de-escalation” area, in case the Security Council could not issue a decision about the massacres committed by Russia and the regime of Bashar al-Assad due to the use of veto by the Russians against any decision by the Security Council that condemns these massacres.
