More than 105 were killed in the three days leading up to the ceasefire versus 4 killed since the start of the agreement
Although the ceasefire is still violated by the regime forces and jihadi groups within “Putin – Erdogan” area through intensive ground shelling from time to time; the casualties have decreased significantly in addition to complete cessation of air strikes, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in turn monitored a comparison between the first three days of implementation of the ceasefire which began on the 2nd of August; with the last 3 days before this agreement.
During the first 3 days of the ceasefire agreement, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of at least 1065 shells and missiles launches by the regime forces and the jihadi groups, where the regime forces shelled areas in al-Zakat, al-Arba’in, Lahaya, Latmin, al-Lataminah and Kafr Zita, the vicinity of Morek, and Khirbet al-Naqous in the northern countryside of Hama, and Kafr Ain, Khan Shaykhun, and al-Hbit in the southern countryside of Idlib, in addition to Bidama town west of Idlib, and the abandoned battalion area, al-Shaarah, and al-Msherfeh in the eastern countryside of Idlib, while rocket shells launched by factions landed on Nile Street neighborhood in Aleppo city which is controlled by the regime forces, also the jihadi factions targeted by shells and missiles Salnafah area and its surroundings in Latakia countryside, and the vicinity of Joureen Camp, Tal Hawash, and the villages of al-Hwaiz and Karakat northwest of Hama, and al-Qassabiyyeh area in the southern countryside of Idlib.
These strikes caused casualties, where a woman was killed in ground shelling by the regime forces on Bidama town in the western countryside of Idlib, while a person was killed in the fall of rocket shells launched by the jihadi groups this morning on Bashlama area in the vicinity of al-Qardaha in Latakia countryside, but it was not known whether he was a civilian or of the gunmen of the regime forces, also 2 members of the regime forces were killed; one of them was killed by a sniper of the jihadi groups on the northern countryside of Hama, and the other one was killed in targeting a tank by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on al-Jabin area in the same countryside.
And the Syrian Observatory documented in 3 days during the period from the 30th of July to the 1st of August 2019, about 455 airstrikes targeted tens of places in the “de-escalation” area, where regime’s warplanes carried out 204 airstrikes targeting Morek, Kafr Zita, al-Lataminah, Latmin, al-Zakat, al-Arba’in, Hasraya, and Dwayr al-Akrad in the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, and Kafr Zita, Khan Shaykhun and its surroundings, Tahtaya, al-Rakaya, outskirts of Muqah, Hish, Jabbala, Ameriyah, Maarrat al-Nu’man, and Saraqib in the countryside of Idlib province, and Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, and the ICARDA area south of Aleppo, and al-Atareb in the western countryside of Aleppo, also the helicopters dropped 140 barrel bombs on Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, and Morek, Kafr Zita, al-Lataminah, al-Zakat, al-Arba’in, Latmin, and the vicinity of Hasraya in the northern countryside of Hama, in addition to Khan Shaykhun city and Tar’ei south Idlib, while the Russian warplanes carried out more than 110 airstrikes on areas in Khan Shaykhun city, Bsida, southeastern outskirts of Kafrsajna, Jabbala, al-Amiriya, Tahtaya, and outskirts of al-Tah in the southern sector of Idlib countryside, and Kafr Zita, Latmin, al-Arba’in, al-Zakat, and al-Lataminah north Hama, and al-Sermaniyyeh in the northwestern countryside of Hama, in addition to Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, the Syrian Observatory also documented more than 1250 ground strikes targeted the countryside of Hama, Aleppo, Latakia, and Idlib, the factions also targeted by tens of missiles and shells locations of the regime forces in Aleppo city and Hama countryside.
The Syrian Observatory documented heavy casualties in the last three days before the announcement of a ceasefire in “Putin – Erdogan” area, especially among the parties fighting on the ground, where 9 citizens including 6 children were killed in air and ground bombardment by the regime, they are: 3 children were killed in rocket shelling by the regime forces on Jisr al-Shughur city in the western countryside of Idlib, a woman was killed in airstrikes by regime’s warplanes on Kafr Nubl town south of Idlib, a child died affected by injuries he had in bombing by regime’s warplanes on Jisr al-Shughur city in the western countryside of Idlib days ago, 2 children of one family were killed in attacks carried out by regime’s warplanes on Kafrziba village west of Ariha city in the southern countryside of Idlib, a citizen while he was trying to rescue the wounded he was killed in airstrikes carried out by regime’s warplanes on Latmin village north Hama, and a man was killed in bombing by regime’s warplanes on al-Atareb town west of Aleppo.
During the same period, 4 citizens including a child, were killed in shelling and targeting by the factions, and they are: 3 citizens including a woman and a child were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on al-Zebdiyyeh neighborhood in Aleppo city which is controlled by the regime forces, and a man was shot by snipers of the factions in al-Khalidiya neighborhood which is controlled by the regime forces in Aleppo city.
The Syrian Observatory also counted between the 30th of July 2019 and the 1st of August 2019; the killing of 93 of fighting parties, where 46 fighters (39 Jihadis and 7 of the factions) were killed in air and land strikes and clashes against the regime forces in areas in the northern countryside of Latakia and areas in the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, also 47 members of the regime forces and militias loyal to them were killed in booby-trapped bombings, targeting, and clashes against the factions and the Jihadi groups on the outskirts and the vicinity of al-Zakat and Hasraya north of Hama, and Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad.
