As the sit-in of residents continues in Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn near the border strip, demonstration in Malkiyyeh town condemns the Turkish threats to launch military operation against east Euphrates

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored residents of Malkiyyeh town “Direk” carry out a popular demonstration on Wednesday, condemning the Turkish threats to launch a military operation against east Euphrates area, while residents of the east Euphrates area continue to come to places of the sit-ins in the areas of Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn hundreds of meters away of the border line within the “Human Shield Tent”, which comes in condemnation of the Turkish threats regarding the upcoming military operation in the area.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored thousands of residents and people of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) city carry out a huge demonstration, denouncing and condemning the Turkish threats to launch a military operation against the east of Euphrates, where the demonstration -who were more than 10 thousand people- arrived at the border with Turkey, and at the same time residents of and people of Ras al-Ayn (Sari Kani) also carried out a demonstration that was started from the city and headed towards its countryside at the border with Turkey, in an expression by the residents for their dissatisfaction with the Turkish threats, and the “Syrian Observatory” monitored this morning, the beginning of the withdrawal of US forces from the areas between Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain in northern Syria.

The US withdrawal comes hours after the White House announced that Turkey would soon launch a military operation that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been threatening to launch over the past days, after he resorted to blackmailing European countries and threatening to open the door for millions of refugees to move into Europe. While Europe and the United States have been subjected to Turkish blackmail, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights warns of the fate of millions of Syrians who could become refugees if Turkey carries out its threats of war. These millions live in the areas under control of the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) which Erdogan seeks to destroy, they will become refugees and displaced in many regions, including the Kurdistan region of Iraq, once the northern region of Syria to become a disaster-stricken area by the war.
