Ambushes and an attack by ISIS within Homs Desert leave 15 casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them and of the organization

Operations of the “Islamic State” organization are still continuing in the Syrian Desert in the frame of its mounting activity against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, where the Syrian observatory for Human Rights monitored an attack carried out by members of the organization on a position and a column of the regime forces and their loyal militias north of Al-Sukhnah city in Homs Desert, where violent clashes erupted between the both parties in the past 24 hours, during which ISIS set ambushed and detonated IEDs and mines in the column, the regime’s warplanes also participated in thwarting the attack and the Syrian Observatory documented casualties due to the clashes, ambushes and bombardment, where at least 12 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were killed, also 3 members of the organization were killed, and the number of casualties is expected to increase due to the presence of injuries some of whom are in critical condition, in addition to the presence of information about other casualties.

Thus, the death toll rose to at least 265 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least 2 Russians, in addition to 32 of the Iranian militias of non-Syrian nationalities, were all killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State” organization west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa, also the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 103 of the “Islamic State” Organization, of who were killed during the same period during attacks, shelling, and targeting.
