“Jaysh Al-Islam” .. from the core of the capital Damascus and its Ghouta to Ras Al-Ayn at a distance of more than 600 km under Turkey’s wing which has always brought it back

Jaysh Al-Islam is considered one of the most prominent opposition factions in Damascus and its countryside, where it was in control of large spaces in the eastern Ghouta as well as positions in the capital Damascus, also it used to had a row with the Qatari – Turkish axis and it was revealed through the internal fighting against the faction “Al-Rahman Corps”, but the Turkish – Russian agreement before a year and half, led to the exit of Jaysh Al-Islam towards the areas of the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” in Aleppo countryside, to be at a distance of 330 km away from the Eastern Ghouta, and some of its commanders headed to Turkey, at the time when its members had engaged in internal fighting against factions present in the area, before the faction gathered itself up and regrouped through joining what is known as National Army which is backed by Turkey, within the 2nd Corps.

And in early October 2019, Jaysh Al-Islam got prepared, regrouped and massed its gears, but this time its destination was not the recovery of areas it lost for the regime forces in Damascus and its countryside, it headed towards Ras Al-Ayn city in Al-Hasakah countryside instead, at a distance of nearly 285 km, in order to confront the Syria Democratic Forces, under the wing of the Turkish forces within the Operation “Peace Spring”, and Jaysh Al-Islam has been still fighting in the area, although the operation has been suspended according to the Russian – Turkish agreement, it also lost 4 of its fighters in the clashes until this moment, and after the faction was at the gates of Bashar Al-Assad’s palace, they became at the fronts of Ras Al-Ayn.
