A source familiar with the Syria Democratic Forces denied to the Syrian Observatory what a Syrian source informed the Syrian Observatory; about meetings that took place at the end of last year and the beginning of this year between leaders of the first ranks in Turkey, and the leader of the Syria’s Tomorrow movement, the former head of the Syrian opposition Coalition, Ahmad al-Jarba, to discuss Handing over the area between Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad to “al-Jarba.” A reliable source in the Syria Democratic Forces said: “the Turkish project and Erdogan’s project are clear to all, where the Turkish president is seeking to bring in extremist groups loyal to him to settle them in the area and this project is clear to everyone, and what is being said about meetings of al-Jarba with Turkey is only a part of the Turkish game on everyone.”

A Syrian source told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the end of last year and the beginning of this year witnessed several meetings, to try to agree on the fate of the northeast Syrian area, where Turkey summoned the leader of the Syria’s Tomorrow Movement the former head of the Syrian opposition Coalition Ahmad al-Jarba several times to Turkey, during which he met with first rank leaders in Turkey and he asked to open a new page with the Turks regarding the east Euphrates area, and the source who was informed about the details of the negotiations and discussions said: “after negotiations with the Turks they accepted to handover the area between Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ayn to him, and according to this understanding al-Jarba went to the Syria Democratic Forces to ask them to stay away from the border area and to hand him over to the areas they agreed upon, where he met with the leader of the Syria Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, several times at an American base in Erbil, Kurdistan area of Iraq, and also in the Syrian territory. “

The source said: “the Americans were aware of the issue and were convinced with it through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; in order for him to receive the area agreed upon with the Turks, in addition to gaining control of it with military support from Qatar and Turkey, but during his meetings with the commander of the Syria Democratic Forces, the latter refused and confirmed that the leadership of the Syria Democratic Forces rejected the Turkish plan and did not accept to withdraw from the agreed area,” and the source continued: “but after the Kurdish rejection for this demand, Turkey said that it will get that area either by agreements and understandings or through militarization, and after the US President Donald Trump announced the withdraw from Syria for the first time at the end of December 2018, the Kurds agreed to the Turkish condition, however, Turkey met that agreement by declaring that the Turkish offer was over and no longer available.”
