Factions of Olive Branch Operation continue their abuses in Afrin from personal attacks, thefts, and looting of public and private property

Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Pro-Turkish “Olive Branch” factions continue to abuse the remaining residents of Afrin area in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, where members of an Islamic corps beat a man in Midan Ikbis village in Afrin countryside, and when another person tried to intervene to prevent them from beating him, they beat the other man and his wife and after which both men were taken to the hospital, while in Sheikh Hadid area, members of the same corps brought bulldozers and heavy vehicles to Arnada village in order to search for relics in the village, while members of the factions uprooted perennial olive trees in villages at Jandairis Township, in conjunction with digging operations in olive groves owned by Kurdish citizens.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the the Syrian Observatory learned from reliable sources that an armed group belongs to a Turkish-backed faction kidnapped an olive oil merchant in Raju city in Afrin countryside, while he was on his way home coming back from his place of work, and according to the Syrian Observatory’s information, the merchants $20000 with him because he is a merchants, which suggests that the kidnapping took place with the aim of theft, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 6th of November 2019 that the the pro-Ankara factions are continuing their violations against the people of Afrin represented by daily thefts and looting actions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that members of the Turkish-backed army of Ahrar al-Sharqiyyah, heads to the agricultural orchards daily in Jandairis Township in Afrin countryside, to cut off tens of trees from farm fields owned by persons from the area, of those who have displaced from their villages after the factions of the operation “Olive Branch” and the Turkish forces imposed their control over the area, according to information obtained by SOHR; the trees cutting off is carried out daily and the faction’s members sell them to merchants as firewood for heating.
