Clashes took place between 10 ISIL militants who were trying to escape and other militants near Bab town resulting in the death of five breakaway fighters and four of the other group who tried to arrest them, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement.
Five of the escapees were arrested and might be executed like many others who tried to quit ISIL and return to their countries, said SOHR.
