Fuel crisis in controlled areas of the “Salvation Government” between the hammer of “Watad” and the anvil of “Peace Spring”

The controlled areas of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the factions witness aggravated fuel crises with the increased demand for gasoline, in conjunction with the necessity of securing heating materials during these days, and the large consumption of fuel in agricultural and industrial fields during olive seasons as well as running compressors, putting power generators in action and taking water out.

Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham is seeking to benefit from these conditions and exploit the crisis to make money, where it dominates this field both imported and domestic that is refined via “Watad” company.

Today, a liter of refined gasoline is sold for the same price of the European, where it’s price rose from 250 SYL to more than 500 SYL during the operation “Peace Spring”.

“Watad” Company monopolizes fuel and raw materials, and with the acute shortage of fuel, “Watad” monopolized the fuel and prevented it from being delivered to the rest refinery stations, which caused widespread resentment among the professionals then developed to security tension in Maarrat Al-Na’san town led by a military Emir in “Tahrir Al-Sham”, who rejects the company’s practices which call for disrupting people’s livelihoods.

Reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that tension is still continuing till this crisis to be resolved, tanks that have been entered to HTS-held areas, meets the need of these areas, but “Watad” monopolizes them in order to increase its profit, the sources added.
