After transporting helicopters from Hmeimim Airbase .. the Russian forces bring military reinforcements and soldiers to Al-Qamishli Airbase

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from reliable sources, that Russian reinforcements of about 15 russian military vehicles arrived today and stationed in Al-Qamishly Airbase in Al-Hasakah countryside.

Sources informed SOHR that the vehicles carry soldiers coming from Aleppo province, where they passed by Tal Tamr on their way to Al-Qamishli.

This movement comes in the frame of the information that SOHR revealed about leasing Al-Qamishli Airbase to Russia, and the intentions of establish a Russian base in it in north-east Syria.

SOHR published on the 14th of November 2019, that confirming what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 3rd of November 2019, Abou the Syrian regime’s intention to lease Qamishli airport to Russian forces for 49 years to be taken as a base for Russian forces, similar to what happened at “Hmeimim” Base, where the Syrian Observatory monitored today the Russian forces starting the transfer of several helicopters from “Hmeimim” base to Qameshly airport in the northeast of Syria on the border with Turkey, as part of Russia’s measures to secure the work of the military police patrolling the Syrian north under the Russian – Turkish agreement, and the Syrian Observatory also monitored the deployment of “Pantsir” air defense systems at the airport to protect helicopters, where a Mi-8 military transport helicopter landed at the airport, while two Mi-35 helicopters are securing the airport from the air.
