At least 15 casualties and injuries of “Fatimiyyoun” militia in new attack by ISIS on al-Mayadin desert

Armed men from the “Islamic State” organization carried out an attack on positions of the “Fatimiyyoun” militia of Iran in al-Mayadin desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the clashes between both parties lasted for about an hour, accompanied by exchange of targeting with heavy machine guns and shells, before members of the organization withdrew deep into the desert, and the Syrian Observatory learned from reliable sources that the attack killed 3 members of ” Fatimiyyoun” and injured 10 others, and the sources added that number of the wounded were taken to the Iranian hospital in al-Mayadin and others were transferred to Deir Ezzor city.

Raising the death toll of casualties since March 2019, where the Syrian Observatory documented during the period between the 24th of March 2019 until the 20th of May 2019 the death of at least 274 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least 2 Russians, in addition to 37 of the Iranian militias of non-Syrian nationalities, were all killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State” organization west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa, also the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 103 members of the “Islamic State” Organization, of who were killed during the same period during attacks, shelling, and targeting.
