Syria: 136 killed in three-day battle in Idlib, NGO

A reported 136 people, including 22 civilians, were killed in three days of clashes and air raids in northwestern Syria, where an intense military campaign by Russian and Syrian government forces has resumed against the region of Idlib under Turkish control, according to UK-based monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The clashes are ongoing in districts south-east of Idlib and involve anti-regime militias, including Qaedist groups, and Syrian loyalist forces supported by Russian special forces. The NGO said that 118 soldiers and militants were killed in three days of clashes, along with 22 civilians.
