In 24 hours of the Abandoned Battalion’s battles, the regime forces fail to recover what they lost for the factions and jihadis, and 26 casualties in the ranks of both parties

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of fierce clashes in areas in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, between the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham on one hand, and the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them on the other, in a new attack started by the regime forces at today’s dawn, in order to regain control of the Abandoned Battalion which they lost for the factions yesterday, Wednesday.

The clashes are accompanied by rocket shelling with tens of shells that targeted the battle fronts in addition to Tal Al-Sultan, Zammar and Jazraya in both Aleppo and Idlib countryside.

SOHR documented more casualties in the ranks of both parties, where at least 7 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them have been killed since the beginning of the new attack, in addition to the killing of 4 fighters of the factions and jihadis. SOHR documented yesterday, the killing of 15 members in the ranks of both parties due to clashes in the Abandoned Battalion.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 823, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 12th of December 2019, and they are: 221 civilians including 62 children and 44 citizen women, and they are 97 including 31 children and 17 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 13 including 3 women and 4 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 32 including 5 children 6 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 65 people including 16 women and 17 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 14 citizens including 6 children and 2 women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 287 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 188 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 315 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

Thus, it rose to at least 4924, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 12th of December 2019, and they are: 1266 civilians including 322 children and 230 citizen women, and they are 323 including 75 children and 60 women, and 9 of the civil defense and 6 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 101 including 22 women and 19 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 569 including 159 children, 96 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 179 people including 36 women and 38 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 94 citizens including 31 children and 16 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 1952 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1275 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1706 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until the 12th of December 2019, and Syrian Observatory documented the death of 5450 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1549 civilians including 403 children under the age of eighteen and 294 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 120 people including 34 children under the age of eighteen and 20 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2038 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1307 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 1863 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 5684 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1632 civilians including 432 children and 308 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 121 people including 34 children and 21 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2105 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1411 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 1947 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
