Islamic state” organization attacks regime forces and allied militias in Deir Ez-zor desert, making significant advances in the area

SOHR monitored a violent attack carried out by “the Islamic State”, yesterday, Tuesday, on the positions of the regime forces and allied militias in al-Shula desert, south of Deir Ez-Zor city, where heavy clashes took place between the two sides, accompanied by shelling and mutual targeting. The Syrian Observatory learned that the organization was able through its violent offensive to control large areas there, while at least three of allied militants of the regime forces were killed during the clashes and more casualties on both sides were reported, That raised the casualties since late March, where SOHR reported since the period between March 24 until today, at least 279 of regime forces and allied militants of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality, including at least two Russians, and 37 of Iranian-backed militias of non-Syrian nationality, were killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes of “the Islamic State” in the western Euphrates, the desert of Deir ez-Zor and Homs and Sweida. The Syrian Observatory also reported the deaths of 103 Isis members killed at the same period during attacks, bombings and targets.
