Demonstrations and protests continue the march of “Popular Uprising” demanding the release of detainees and Iranian militias to leave Syria, in Daraa governorate
The Syrian Observatory monitored on Friday, a demonstration in Al-Yadoda town in the western countryside of Daraa, demanding the release of detainees from “regime forces” prisons, the demonstrators have also demanded the cessation of shelling of civilians in Idlib province. Meanwhile, a number of young men staged a vigil in Maaraba town, which also demanded the release of detainees and the expulsion of Lebanese “Hezbollah” from Syria.

On December 10, the Syrian Observatory monitored an evening demonstration in Jabata al-Khashab in Daraa countryside demanding the release of detainees in Syrian regime prisons, while the cities and towns of Daraa governorate are witnessing popular demonstrations against Iranians and Hezbollah, denouncing the Iranian expansion. On the evening of December 9, the Syrian Observatory monitored a demonstration in Maaraba town in Daraa countryside demanding the release of detainees and expelling Hizbullah from Syria.
Over the past week, an escalation of demonstrations was monitored by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, as residents of Al-Karak al-Sharqi, Busr al-Harir, Maaraba, Al-Sharqiya, Naseeb, Daraa al-Balad, Tafas, Tssil and other areas of Daraa staged demonstrations during which they affirmed the principles of the Syrian revolution and demanded the release of detainees held in Syrian regime’s detention facilities and Iranians to leave Syria.
Russians were not spared Daraa’s uprising, where on November 29, residents of Daraa governorate expelled the Russian delegation who came to attend the funeral of the former leader of the opposition factions, who was assassinated a day earlier by unidentified gunmen west of Daraa. These demonstrations coincide with the continuous poor living and security conditions in Daraa governorate, where the state of chaos continues to worsen significantly, according to the Syrian Observatory.
