Regime forces try to reach the largest town in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside, and more than 80000 people have displaced since early this month

Fierce clashes have been still continuing between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against factions and jihadi groups, in areas in Maarrat Al-Nu’man, as the regime tries to take control of more areas and gets closer to Jarjna, the largest town in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside. The forces have already become at 5 km away from it.

In connection to this, intense air strikes by regime and Russian aircraft continue, amid growing displacement movement as more than 31000 persons were forced to displace during the past few days, raising to 80000, the number of people forced to displace since early December, from the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man (the villages from Um Jalal to Maasaran and from Maarrat Al-Nu’man to the vicinity of Abu Al-Duhur), in addition to towns and villages in Jabal Al-Zawiya south of Idlib city, and villages in the east of Saraqib town in the eastern sector of Idlib countryside.
