Clashes in Latakia countryside and Sahl al-Ghab leave casualties, and more than 100 airstrikes target the “de-escalation” area

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored this evening the continuation of clashes in the countryside of Latakia and Sahl al-Ghab, in conjunction with intense exchange of ground shelling between the regime forces against the jihadi factions and organizations in these areas, which killed 7 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, also two members of the Jihadi factions were killed in clashes in Latakia countryside and Sahl al-Ghab.

Also, several helicopters took turns in dropping barrel bombs over Latakia countryside this evening, as warplanes continue to bomb Maarrat al-Nu’man countryside, where the number of raids carried out by regime’s warplanes on the clash areas and the countryside of Maarrat al-Nu’man and Saraqib area rose to 44, while the number of raids carried out by the Russian warplanes on the same areas increased to 28.

At the same time, the number of barrel bombs dropped by the helicopters over the area increased to 34, and the “Syrian Observatory” documented the death of nine citizens, they are: 7 were killed in a massacre carried out by the Russian warplanes which targeted a gathering of displaced people in Maarrat al-Nu’man, and two citizens were killed in Russian airstrikes on Talmanas.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1108, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 22nd of December 2019, and they are: 293 civilians including 76 children and 60 citizen women, and they are 124 including 37 children and 22 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 19 including 3 women and 6 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 59 including 7 children 13 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 77 people including 20 women and 21 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 14 citizens including 5 children and 2 women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 403 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 283 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 412 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

It rose to at least 5200, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 22nd of December 2019, and they are: 1338 civilians including 336 children and 246 citizen women, and they are 350 including 81 children and 65 women, and 9 of the civil defense and 6 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 107 including 22 women and 21 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 596 including 162 children, 100 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 191 people including 40 women and 41 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 94 citizens including 31 children and 16 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 2068 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1370 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1803 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today; the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 5735 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1621 civilians including 417 children under the age of eighteen and 310 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 120 people including 34 children under the age of eighteen and 20 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2154 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1402 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 1960 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 5969 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1704 civilians including 446 children and 324 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 121 people including 34 children and 21 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2221 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1506 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 2044 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
