Drones attack Hama Military Airbase and 130 air strikes pound the “de-escalation” zone as battles continue in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside

Loud explosions were heard in Hama Military airbase as air defenses intercepted strange objects believed to be “drones” that attacked the airbase. No casualties were reported.

On the other hand, rebel and Islamic factions have been still continuing their counterattack on positions came recently under control of the regime forces which try to advance into the villages of Maarata, Farawan and Babulin in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside.

SOHR has monitored that regime imposed their control over al-Tah town while in controls other areas in its vicinity by firearm.

The Syrian Observatory has learned that the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham have withdrawn completely from al-Sarman village and Abu Makki, while the regime forces took control of large swaths of the area besieging the Turkish observation post in “al-Sarman” from 3 sides,

In connection to this, violent clashes are still taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel factions and the Jihadi organizations, raising the number of areas they have controlled since the start of the military operation on Thursday, to 30 areas, they are: Um Jalal, Um Al-Tweena, Al-Khariba, Al-Rabia, Al-Shaara, Bernan, Sahal, Al-Farjeh, Abu Habeh, Al-Rafeh, Al-Sarj, Haran, Al-Sayyadi, Tal al-Damm, Qatrah, Al-Brisa, Tal Al Sheikh, Mazra’aat Al Ali, Al Burj, Al Haraki, Al Mindar, Tahtaya, al-Helba, al-Qarati, Karsatna, al-M’eisruneh, Sakiya, al-Tah, al-Sarman, and Abu Makki.

Meanwhile the death toll of the regime forces since after midnight rose to 37, also the death toll of the factions and jihadists rose to 35, which in turn raise the death toll of both parties to 220 since the clashes began two days ago, they are: 98 of the regime forces and militias loyal to them, and 122 fighters including 21 of the factions and the rest are Jihadis.

Besides, SOHR has documented the killing of seven members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, also two members of the Jihadi factions were killed in clashes in Latakia countryside and Sahl al-Ghab.

In this context, the number of raids carried out by regime’s warplanes on contested areas and the countryside of Maarrat al-Nu’man and Saraqib area rose to 59, meanwhile the number of raids carried out by the Russian warplanes on the same areas increased to 37, also the number of barrel bombs dropped by the helicopters over the area increased to 34.

SOHR has documented a new massacre committed by the Russian warplanes in Ma’saran town. It documented the death of six citizens including four brothers, raising the number of civilian casualties to 15, they are: 7 citizens were killed in Maarrat al-Nu’man in bombing by the Russian warplanes on families as they try to displace to other areas, two citizens were killed by Russian airstrikes on Talmanas, and 6 casualties in bombing by the Russian warplanes on Ma’saran town.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1147, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 22nd of December 2019, and they are: 299 civilians including 76 children and 60 citizen women, and they are 130 including 37 children and 22 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 19 including 3 women and 6 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 59 including 7 children 13 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 77 people including 20 women and 21 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 14 citizens including 5 children and 2 women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 415 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 295 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 433 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

It rose to at least 5248, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 22nd of December 2019, and they are: 1344 civilians including 336 children and 246 citizen women, and they are 356 including 81 children and 65 women, and 9 of the civil defense and 6 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 107 including 22 women and 21 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 596 including 162 children, 100 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 191 people including 40 women and 41 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 94 citizens including 31 children and 16 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 2080 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1382 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1824 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today; the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 5774 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1627 civilians including 417 children under the age of eighteen and 310 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 120 people including 34 children under the age of eighteen and 20 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2166 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1414 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 1981 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 6008 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1710 civilians including 446 children and 324 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 121 people including 34 children and 21 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2233 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1518 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 2065 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
