Factions regain control of two villages in Maarrat al-Nu’man countryside and violent clashes in the vicinity of Jarjanaz town

The factions and Hayyaat Tahrir-Sham were able through a counterattack today to regain control of Kafr Basin and Babulin villages in the southeastern countryside of Maarrat al-Nu’man, after violent clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where the regime forces had advanced to both villages hours ago but were not able to hold their ground in the area.

In the same context, the factions destroyed a tank of the regime forces on Jarjanaz town, where the most violent clashes are taking place there. thus, the number of villages controlled by the regime forces since the start of the military operation on Thursday evening, 19th of December 2019 rose to 35 areas, and they are: Um Jalal, Um Al-Twaina, Al-Khariba, Al-Rabia, Al-Sharaa, Bernan, Sahal, Al-Farajeh, Abu Habeh, Al-Rafeh, Al-Serj, Haran, Al-Sayyadi, Tal al-Damm, Katra, Tal Al Shiekh, al-Brisa, Mazra’aat Al-Ali, Al-Burj, al-Haraki, Al-Minzar, Tahtaya, Al-Halbeh, al-Qarati, Karsatna, Al-M’eisruneh, Sakiya, Al-Tah, Al-Sarman, Abu Makki, Marata, Faalul, Al Haditha, Abu Dafnah, and Taqana.

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of four members of the regime forces since after midnight, in addition to the killing of 10 of the Jihadi groups in shelling and clashes, also the Syrian Observatory documented since the beginning of the ground offensive 234 casualties of both parties, they are: 102 of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, and 132 fighters including 21 of the factions and the rest are of the Jihadis.
