After absence for 6 hours, warplanes resume their bombardment on Idlib countryside along with factions withdrawal from Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored Islamic factions and jihadi groups withdrawing from the areas of Kafrbasin, Babulin, Sahyan and Maar Hattat on Aleppo – Damascus International Highway (M5). No information was reported about regime advancement into these areas.

Accordingly, the Turkish observation post in “Maar Hattat” town becomes the third post of those came within the controlled areas of the regime forces, after the post of Serman in the eastern countryside of Idlib and Murak’s in the northern countryside of Hama.

Separately, regime warplanes returned to bombard the “de-escalation” zone, after being absent from the area’s airspace for nearly 6 hours. Two warplanes consecutively bombarded Tal Mannas town and the M5, in the area between Babbila and Khan Al-Sabil towns. That was coincided with firing flares on Maarrat Al-Nu’man city.

The number of today’s raids by regime warplanes rose to 30, while helicopters dropped 18 barrel bombs, also Russian warplanes carried out 33 air strikes. All targeted both Idlib and Latakia countryside.

SOHR has documented that the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them who have been killed in the detonations and clashes since after midnight rose to 23. Also, it rose to 19, the number of fighters of the factions and Jihadis who were killed today, raising the number of casualties of both conflicting parties since the beginning of Thursday’s ground offensive to 301 casualties of both parties, they are: 134 of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, and 167 fighters including 29 of the factions and the rest are of the Jihadis.

In connection to this, SOHR has documented the killing of eight regime soldiers as well as five Jihadis, during clashes, air strikes and repelling repeated attempts to advance into areas of Latakia countryside.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory has documented more human losses due to the Russian bombardment on Jubas village, in which the number of displaced people who were killed in the Russian air strikes on a school accommodates people displaced in the village that is located 1 km away from the M5, rose to ten including six children and two women. The death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of injured cases in serious conditions.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1251, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 24th of December 2019, and they are: 309 civilians including 82 children and 62 citizen women, and they are 140 including 42 children and 24 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 19 including 3 women and 6 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 59 including 7 children 13 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 77 people including 20 women and 21 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 14 citizens including 5 children and 2 women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 465 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 337 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 477 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

It rose to at least 5352, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 24th of December 2019, and they are: 1354 civilians including 342 children and 248 citizen women, and they are 366 including 87 children and 67 women, and 9 of the civil defense and 6 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 107 including 22 women and 21 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 596 including 162 children, 100 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 191 people including 40 women and 41 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 94 citizens including 31 children and 16 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 2130 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1424 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1868 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today; the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 5878 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1637 civilians including 423 children under the age of eighteen and 312 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 120 people including 34 children under the age of eighteen and 20 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2216 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1456 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 2025 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 6112 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1720 civilians including 452 children and 326 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 121 people including 34 children and 21 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2283 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1560 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 2109 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
