Turkish-backed factions arrest a civilian in rural Afrin northwest of Aleppo

Turkish-backed factions continue to arrest Afrin’s Kurds, in an attempt to tighten the noose on residents and prevent them from returning to their homes.

The “Syrian Observatory” monitored a patrol of a Turkish-backed faction where members of that patrol stormed a house in Deir Sawan town in the area of Shara in rural Afrin, northwest of Aleppo, a civilian was arrested and taken to an unknown destination without explaining the reasons and motives for the arrest, three days after he returned to his home coming from regime-held areas in Aleppo city.

On December 28, SOHR reported that Turkish-backed factions carried out raids and arrests of more than ten people, including a woman in Bulbul village of the city of Afrin, northwest of Aleppo, local sources told SOHR.

According to the Syrian Observatory sources, the people were arrested after various charges were brought against them, most notable was previous fighting in the ranks of the “self-administration” during its control of the city of Afrin and its countryside.
