New deadly car bomb targets Turkish-held town in NE Syria

SOHR sources reported hearing a loud explosion in Sluk town which is under control of the Turkish forces and their proxies in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah.

The explosion was caused by a car bomb that went off this morning in the town, which killed two persons and injured others, in addition to causing material damage.

21 blasts hit the controlled areas of the Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies during the period between late October until late December, in both Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah countryside near the Syrian-Turkish border.

They were confined to limited areas which are: Tal Abyad city, Sluk town, the villages of Ayn Arous and Hamam Al-Turkman in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, Ras Al-Ayn city, and Mabroukah, Tal Halaf towns and Tal Khanzir town in the western countryside of Ras Al-Ayn north of Al-Hasakah.

15 of these explosion have been carried out by using car bombs and five by booby-trapped motorcycle, leaving gross casualties among civilians and Ankara-backed military personnel.

SOHR documented during this period, the killing of 72 persons at least, they are 41 civilians including a female and ten children, and 31 fighters of the Turkish-backed factions of the “National Army”.

At least 193 other persons were injured with varying severity, some of them are still in critical conditions and others sustained permanent disabilities.
