IED goes off in Al-Shuhayl, six days after the town’s dignitaries met to form a local armed faction

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that an explosion rocked Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

It turned out to be caused by an IED explosion near a house in the town that is under control of SDF. No casualties have been reported so far.

SOHR sources confirmed that the explosion took place near the house where a meeting including the town’s dignitaries, was held on the 27th of December 2019, for the purpose of forming an armed faction for preserving security in the area.

The forming of this faction comes in the light of the growing killing incidents and assassinations in the area. It also supported by U.S. forces stationed in Al-Omar Oilfield.
