Unknown assailants shoot a former fighter hours after another assassination attempt in Daraa city

Daraa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR has documented the injury of a former fighter in opposition factions of those that struck reconciliation and settlement deals with the regime forces, after being shot by unknown gunmen in Daraa Al-Balad in Daraa city.

This assassination attempt comes hours after an IED explosion in Daraa Al-Balad, in the vehicle of a former military commander in the opposition factions of those that struck reconciliation and settlement deals with the regime forces.

According to SOHR sources; the explosion caused material damage only. The targeted commander is one of the most prominent commanders who settled their security situations with the regime, after the regime had imposed its control over Daraa.

The number of attacks and assassination attempts took place in various forms and methods by detonating bombs, mines, booby-trapped cars, and firing with light and medium weapons, since June 2019 until today, rose to more than 238, raising in turn the number of people killed in the same period to 165, they are 26 civilians including four women and two children, 87 of the regime forces and militiamen. loyal to them and collaborators of the security forces and regime institutions, 29 fighters of the faction who carried out “reconciliation and settlements” and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders, and of the 16 Syrian militias of the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces, in addition to six of what is known as the 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
