Ambiguity still surrounds the identity of the mass execution’s perpetrators in Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Ambiguity still surrounds the identity of the perpetrators of the mass execution in the south-eastern desert of Al-Raqqah that claimed the lives of 21 civilian citizens.

According to SOHR sources; it has not been confirmed yet whether the massacre was carried out by ISIS members or by militiamen loyal to the Syrian regime.

It is noteworthy that the victims were shackled and executed by firing squad on January 4, while grazing sheep in Al-Sabkhah Desert in the south-eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah.

Three other sheep herders are still missing and their fate is not known.
