The Syrian Observatory confirmed the resumption of Russian aerial operations in the “de-escalation” zone. Russian warplanes executed intensive raids on Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and the villages of Sarjeh, Babilla, Rwaiha and Al-Hamidyah. No Information was reported about casualties.

These strikes come after the meeting between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Receb Tayyip Erdoganin Turkey. Via a statement released after their meeting, they emphasized on the need to stop escalation on Idlib according to earlier accords.

The Syrian Observatory reported this morning, that frontline areas in the eastern countryside of Idlib witnessed exchange of fire with shells and heavy machineguns after midnight of yesterday, between factions and jihadi groups against regime soldiers and loyalists, after yesterday’s fierce clashes between both parties during which 45 fighters and soldiers were killed.

Other than that, cautious calm has been prevailing since midnight, amid normal cessation of aerial operation.
