Idlib ceasefire: More than 170 ground strikes pound the “de-escalation” zone and factions’ fire leaves civilian casualties

The Syrian Observatory activists reported that cautious calm has been still prevailing throughout the “de-escalation” zone despite deliberate violations by the regime forces and jihadi groups during the first day of implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

Over the past 24 hours, SOHR activists documented 170 missiles and shells fired by the regime forces on Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, Maasaran, Maarshourin, Maarshamsheh, Deir Sharqi, Deir Gharbi, Kafr Basin, Tal Mannas Al-Hamdiyah, Taqqanah, Baarbu , Hanoutin, Rakaya, Babilla and Hish in Idlib countryside, Jazraya town in the southern countryside of Aleppo, Al-Hawija, Al-Ankawy and Jib Suleiman in the northern countryside of Hama.

The Observatory activists also documented the killing of three citizens after rocket shelling by jihadi groups with 19 rocket shells on Al-Sabil Housing, Al-Neel Street, Al-Shahbaa Al-Jadidah and Al-Khalidyah in the western part of Aleppo city which is under control of the regime forces.

The death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of five injuries including two children.

SOHR sources reported that regime helicopters threw leaflets read on the western countryside of Aleppo calling upon the residents there to head to the crossings that the regime and the Russians opened in Al-Hbit, Abu Al-Duhur and Al-Hader.
