ISIS cells infiltrate al-Bokamal countryside and shell positions of the Iran-backed militia
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today an infiltration carried out by cells of the “Islamic State” organization through the desert, and targeting locations of the regime forces and the Iran-backed militias in al-Abbas village in the countryside of al-Bokamal with mortar shells, but no information about casualties so far.
In the same context, two consecutive explosions were heard yesterday in al-Ramadi village, which is controlled by regime forces and Iran-backed militias, but no more information about the explosions.
The Syrian Observatory monitored several targeting by unidentified drones since the beginning of this year. On the 10th of January 2019, unidentified warplanes bombed warehouses and vehicles of the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces in al-Bokamal area on the Syrian-Iraqi border, where at least eight people of non-Syrian nationality were killed.
The Syrian Observatory monitored the Iran-backed militias changing their positions and moving their heavy weapons to the banks of Euphrates River and its orchards, to hide and camouflage them to avoid expected American strikes.
