Tension in al- Busayrah city after SDF’s attempt to arrest a former FSA commander

Tensions prevailed al-Busayrah city today in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after a patrol of the Syria Democratic Forces attempted to arrest a former commander of the Free Army from a shop.

The commander showed resistance and tens of his relatives and people gathered to confront the patrol prevented it from arresting him.

The patrol members opened fire randomly in the air which injured a citizen.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a gathering of people in the city, amid information about sending a large force by the Syria Democratic Forces to arrest him.

Sources said that the young man is very popular in al-Busayrah city and Deir Ezzor province.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 14th of January 2019 that an IED exploded at the bridge in the SDF-controlled city of Al-Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The explosion targeted a demonstration including relatives of an arms dealer known by his initials as “G.A.”, demanded SDF release him after being arrested on the 30th of December 2019.

Two demonstrators were killed and seven others were injured of whom two persons are in critical conditions.

After the explosion, all shops in the city’s market were closed in a strike against what happened.

 SOHR sources learned on December 30, that Syria Democratic Forces with support by the International Coalition aircraft, arrested an arms dealer and another person in Al-Busayrah town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

SDF raided the dealer’s house and took the two persons to unknown destination.
