Collapsing ceasefire: 21 persons killed in Idlib and nearly 160 airstrikes pound the “de-escalation” zone

The Syrian Observatory activists documented the death of a child girl affected by the injury she had in a raid by warplanes on Ariha city, raising today’s civilian death toll in Idlib province to 21.

The fatalities were distributed as follows: 19 civilians including three children and one member of the Civil Defense, were killed in bombardment by regime warplanes on Idlib city, one civilian was killed in airstrikes by the regime warplanes on Hass town in the southern countryside of Idlib, and a child girl who died affected by the injury she had in a raid by warplanes on Ariha city.

Separately, opposition factions fended off an attack by the regime forces on the frontline areas in Tal Khatrah and Abu Juraif in the eastern countryside of Idlib. The attack was coincided with intensive ground shelling by the regime.

For their part, the factions shelled regime forces positions in both Idlib and Aleppo countryside. No information about casualties was reported.

In connection to this, the Russian warplanes executed 56 raids on Maarrat Al-Nu’man, Deir Sharqi, Dadikh, Khan Al-Sabil, Tal Mannas, Maasaran, Maarshamsheh, Maarshourin, Al-Hamidiyah, Al-Hartamiyah, Tal Karsiyan, Sheikh Idrees, Abu Juraif area and the frontlines in the east of Idlib.

Meanwhile, regime warplanes targeted places in Kafrumah, Abu Juraif, Horsh Banin, Al-Bara, Sheikh Ahmed, Ariha city, Kafr Nubl, Maarzita, Katlana, Sheikh Idrees, Mantaf, Sarja and Idlib city with 73 airstrikes.

Also helicopters dropped 28 barrel bombs on Kafrumah, Abu Juraif, Banin, Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and Shnana.

The regime ground forces had its share of today’s bombardment with 560 rocket and artillery shells that targeted Idlib countryside.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1,487, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until today, and they are: 389 civilians including 104 children and 71 citizen women, and they are 141 including 43 children and 24 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 21 including three women and seven children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 118 including 21 children 19 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 92 people including 23 women and 28 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 17 citizens including five children and two women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 519 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 375 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 579 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

It rose to at least 5,588, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until today, and they are: 1,434 civilians including 364 children and 257 citizen women, and they are 367 including 87 children and 67 women, and nine of the civil defense and six of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 109 including 22 women and 22 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 656 including 176 children, 109 women, and six members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 206 people including 43 women and 48 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 97 citizens including 31 children and 16 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 2,184 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1,462 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1,970 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today; the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 6,114 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1,717 civilians including 445 children under the age of eighteen and 321 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 123 people including 34 children under the age of eighteen and 20 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2,270 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1,494 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 2,127 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 6,348 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1,800 civilians including 474 children and 335 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 124 people including 34 children and 21 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2,337 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1,598 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 2,211 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
