Nearly 80 airstrikes on Idlib and Aleppo kill 25 civilians and injure tens others

Reliable sources informed the Observatory that regime rocket launchers and artillery targeted places in the towns and villages of Hass, Kafrumah, Maar Zita, Basqala, Maasaran, Babilla, Karsaa, Bsama, al-Z’einiyyeh and Maraand in Idlib countryside, Haritan in the western countryside of Aleppo, and Tardin area in Latakia countryside.

For their part, opposition factions shelled regime positions in Jarjnaz town in the eastern countryside of Idlib, the vicinity of Aleppo city, and Al-Wadihi area in rural Aleppo.

Regime jets carried out four raids on IKARDA area in Aleppo countryside.

Meanwhile, Russian jets continued their deliberate bombardment on residential buildings and displaced people gatherings in the western countryside of Aleppo. Accordingly, the number of today’s airstrikes by Russian jets which targeted areas in both Aleppo and Idlib countryside, rose to nearly 69.

Also regime helicopters had a share in today’s aerial operations with four barrel bombs they dropped on Al-Sahafiyeen area and the vicinity of Khan Al-Asal in Idlib countryside.

In connection to this, the civilian death toll of the massacre by Russian jets in Kafr Nouran town in the western countryside of Aleppo, rose to eight civilians including three children.

SOHR activists documented the killing of two other civilians in the Russian airstrikes on an industrial facility in Kafr Naha town, west Aleppo, bringing the number of people who were killed today by Russian airstrikes on both Idlib and Aleppo countryside, to 25 civilians including 13 children.

The fatalities were distributed as follows:

  • A man, his wife, their six children, and another man were killed in Kafrtaal village, west of Aleppo

  • Two men were killed in the Russian bombardment on the vicinity of al-Bara village, south of Idlib

  • Two displaced children from Hama countryside were killed in Jadraya village, west of Aleppo

  • One child displaced from al-Hbit was killed in Arhab in the western countryside of Aleppo

  • One child was killed in Taqad in the same countryside

  • Eight displaced civilians from Idlib countryside including three children, were killed in Kafrnuran town in Aleppo

  • Two civilians were killed in the Russian airstrikes on an industrial facility in Kafr Naha town, west Aleppo.

The death toll is expected to rise as there are more than 45 injured people some of whom are in critical situation.

Activists also informed the Syrian Observatory that two regime soldiers were killed today after rebel factions targeted an advanced bulwark in Otayrah area in Jabal Al-Turkman in the northern countryside of Latakia. Rebel factions also targeted a regime position in Abu Dafnah area in the eastern countryside of Idlib, leaving three soldiers dead and others injured.

On the other hand, 11 fighters were killed after being targeted by Russian jets in Maardebseh area in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

With the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1,736, the number of people who were killed since the last agreement of “Putin – Erdogan” on the 31st of August 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until today, and they are: 440 civilians including 128 children and 77 citizen women, and they are 180 including 65 children and 27 women were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 21 including three women and seven children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 117 including 21 children 19 women were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 92 people including 23 women and 28 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 30 citizens including seven children and five women were killed in shelling by the factions on regime forces’-controlled areas in Aleppo and its countryside and the countryside of Hama, while at least 621 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 461 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 675 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

It rose to at least 5,837, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until today, and they are: 1,485 civilians including 388 children and 263 citizen women, and they are 406 including 109 children and 70 women, and nine of the civil defense and six of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 109 including 22 women and 22 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 655 including 176 children, 109 women, and six members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 206 people including 43 women and 48 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 110 citizens including 33 children and 19 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 2,286 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1,548 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 2,066 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

During the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today; the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 6,363 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1,768 civilians including 469 children under the age of eighteen and 327 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 136 people including 36 children under the age of eighteen and 23 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2,372 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1,580 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 2,223 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 6,597 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1,851 civilians including 496 children and 341 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 137 people including 36 children and 24 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 2,439 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1,684 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 2,307 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
