Heavy battles continue in Aleppo and Idlib, increasing the death toll of regime and rebels to 47

Syrian Observatory sources report that violent clashes continue on frontlines in rural Aleppo and Idlib, between opposition factions and jihadist groups on one side, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, as part of attacks carried out by regime forces on frontlines in southern, eastern and south-east rural Idlib, in addition to western rural Aleppo, amid continued intensive bombardment by Russian jets and regime helicopters on frontlines and rear lines.

SOHR activists said that regime forces were able to advance again southeast of Maarat al-Numan city to become about three km away from the city. Regime forces captured Ma’ar Shmarin, Al Deir Sharqi and Al Deir Gharbi, only towns and villages of Ma’ar Shourin, Talmenas, Ma’ar Shamsha and Al-Ghadfa separate the regime forces from reaching Ma’rat al-Numan city.

While regime forces have not been able to advance either on the frontlines of Sahyan and Ba’arbo, south of Idlib or Abu Jarif, Tal Karsayan, Tal Khatra, east of Idlib.
Regime forces continue trying to advance in Ikthar Al Bithar frontline in western rural Aleppo, amid continued air and ground bombardment on the area.

The Syrian Observatory documented more casualties among the warring side. The death toll of regime forces since the beginning of the attacks yesterday evening rose to 16, while the death toll of rebel from shelling and clashes increased to 31, including 26 jihadists.
The death toll is expected to rise as there are wounded, some in serious condition. Further casualities were reported.
