“Al-Hamzat Division” gives residents of Afrin’s Al-Barrad village 24-hours notice to evacuate the village for unknown reasons

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Turkish-backed division of “Al-Hamzat” issued a decree giving the residents of Al-Barrad village of Shirawa township in the countryside of Afrin, 24 hours to evacuate the entire village. The reasons for such procedure have yet to be known.

It is noteworthy that most of the village’s residents were displaced after the factions of “Olive Branch” controlled Afrin city and countryside. Only tens of families refused to leave and remained in the village.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory learned that Turkish-backed factions and Turkish Intelligence launched a campaign of raids and arrests yesterday in Afrin area in the north-western countryside of Aleppo.

The raiding forces arrested 12 Kurdish civilians including a female and a member in “Afrin Local Council”, from Afrin city and countryside. The arrested persons were taken to unknown destination without information so far about the reasons for arresting them.
