Regime forces capture the eastern gate to Jabal Al-Zawiya bringing Maarrat Al-Nu’man city within firing range

Syrian Observatory activists documented the killing of a child girl and the injury of other civilians in aerial bombardment by regime jets on Anjara town in the western countryside of Aleppo.

Separately, Observatory sources reported that the regime forces achieved strategic advancement by capturing Kafruma town, near Maarrat Al-Nu’man city. The town is considered as the gate to Jabal Al-Zawiya from the eastern side.

The regime advancement came after several attacks accompanied by tens of air and ground strikes encircling the city of Maarrat Al-Nu’man.

Meanwhile, clashes are underway between the regime forces and opposition factions in the town’s eastern and southern outskirts as the factions try to win the lead.

Only one hill connects between Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and Kafruma, separates the regime forces from cutting off all routes to the city, with the exception of a rough mountain path links the city to Al-Bara town in Jabal Al-Zawiya, which it is exposed to aircraft fire.

Since Friday evening, the regime forces have imposed their control over 24 villages and towns: Telmans, Ma’ar Shmasha, Deir Sharqi, Deir Al-Gharbi, Ma’ar Shmarin, Ma’rata, Al-Ghadfa, Ma’ar Shourin Al-Za’alana, Al-Dana, Tal Sheikh, Sawami’e, Khirbet Mezyan, Masaran, Bsida, Taqana, Babolin, Kafr Bassin, Marhatat, Hamidia, Dar Al-Salaam, Salhia and Kafruma).
