Military operations in Idlib and Aleppo: regime forces capture nearly 35 areas in less than five days

Syrian Observatory activists monitored that the regime forces achieved new advancements with air and ground support, north of Maarrat Al-Nu’man within the area linking the city to Saraqib town. They imposed control over Al-Qaheriyah, Al-Jaradah, Al-Rwayha approaching to nearly nine km away from the strategic town of Saraqib.

At the same time, battles are still continuing in Khan Al-Sabil along with detonating a car-bomb by the factions.

On the other hand, regime forces are sweeping Maarrat Al-Nu’man city amid information about the presence of rebels of the city’s people hiding there. SOHR sources have reported hearing an explosion in the city whose nature has not been known yet leaving injuries among regime soldiers and correspondents of Russian TV channels loyal to the regime.

Since Friday evening, the regime forces have imposed their control over 29 villages and towns: Telmans, Ma’ar Shmasha, Deir Sharqi, Deir Al-Gharbi, Ma’ar Shmarin, Ma’rata, Al-Ghadfa, Ma’ar Shourin Al-Za’alana, Al-Dana, Tal Sheikh, Sawami’e, Khirbet Mezyan, Masaran, Bsida, Taqana, Babolin, Kafr Bassin, Marhatat, Hamidia, Dar Al-Salaam, Salhia, Kafruma, Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, Wadi Al-Daif, Hantutin, Al-Jarrada, Al-Ruwayha and Al-Qahiryah).

In Aleppo, regime forces captured five areas: Khan Tuman warehouses, Tal Al-Zaytun, Al-Rashideen fifth sector, the area of Al-Sahafiyeen Housing, and Ma’rata.

Observatory activists also documented gross human losses in the ranks of both warring forces who have been killed in bombardment and fierce clashes since Friday. 140 jihadis among 179 opposition fighters were killed so far, in addition to the killing of 163 regime soldiers and loyalists.
