‘Al Jabha Al-Shamiyah’ faction prevents Idlib’s displaced people from crossing into SDF-held areas via Um Jaloud crossing in north-eastern Syria

Reliable source informed SOHR that members of ”Al Jabha Al-Shamiyah” faction stationed at Um Jaloud crossing northwest of Manbij, which links Turkish-backed factions-held areas to SDF-held areas, stopped a line of displaced people from Idlib and prevented them from passing and entering SDF-held areas, where displaced people are still stuck there since the morning.

On last January 28, Syrian Observatory sources reported that Um Jaloud crossing in northwest of Manbij was reopened, which links SDF-held areas to Turkish-backed factions-held areas.

Reopening the crossing came three months after it was closed since Operation Peace Spring. Um Jaloud crossing is considered one of the most important commercial crossings between Manbij and Jarabulus in north-eastern rural Aleppo.

On the 19th of November 2019, “Aon al-Dadat” crossing was reopened, one month after it was closed, between Manbij and Jarabulus towns in eastern rural Aleppo, which used for the passage of civilians in both directions. “Aon al-Dadat” crossing was closed last September to passenger traffic but remained open to commercial traffic.
