Turkish forces install new military post in Taftanaz military airbase

SOHR activists monitored a new Turkish military column of nearly 50 military vehicles, including armored vehicles, tanks, heavy gears and logistical supplies, crossing into the Syrian territory. The Turkish troops headed to Taftanaz military airbase, east of Idlib, where they installed a new military post there.

On Tuesday, SOHR sources reported that Turkish troops brought in trucks carrying mobile bulletproof guard booths, where nearly ten trucks entered Syrian territory via Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Iskenderun Brigade and headed towards Turkish points deployed in “de-escalation” zone.

Yesterday, Syrian Observatory activists reported seeing three new Turkish military columns crossing into the Syrian territory via Kafr Lusin crossing on the border with Iskenderun north of Idlib city.

On Sunday, SOHR reported that five Turkish military columns of armored vehicles, personnel carriers and trucks entered Syria via Kafr Lusin crossing heading to Aleppo and Idlib countryside. One of these columns headed to Areha area via M4 highway, while another one stopped in Saraqeb town.

Accordingly, the number of trucks and military vehicles that entered the Syrian territory since Monday morning has risen to more than 400. Meanwhile, the Turkish columns headed to Idlib and Aleppo, amid information about the announcement of Aleppo-Latakia highway, known as M4, a military zone by Turkish forces, which is a significant Turkish escalation against the Russians.
