Uneasy calm prevails on Idlib and Aleppo frontlines amid cessation of regime and Russian airstrikes

SOHR sources report that an uneasy calm prevailed throughout Idlib and Aleppo in “Putin-Erdogan” area, since Friday morning to date, along with cessation of aerial operations by jets and helicopters of Syrian regime and the Russian air force since yesterday evening due to bad weather conditions.

The calm prevailed in the area for hours for the first time since the collapse of the recent ceasefire, while regime forces captured, on Thursday, al-Qalajiya, Khalsa, Zetan, Barna and Al-Hweir in southern rural Aleppo.

Only few villages separate regime forces from capturing Damascus-Aleppo international highway known as M5.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory reported that regime forces captured the city of Saraqeb for the first time since 2011, after regime forces had besieged opposition fighters inside the city for the past two days.
