Revealed: the reasons behind Turkey’s pullout from north of Tal Abyad and redeployment
SOHR sources disclosed new details about the Turkish pullout from the eastern area of Tal Abyad in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. According to very reliable SOHR sources, the retreating Turkish troops have been redeployed in the western part of Tal Abyad.
Turkey withdrew its forces from the northern part of Tal Abyad to its western part for several reasons, the most prominent of which was the spike in SDF attacks which recently inflected nearly 20 fatalities among the Turkish-backed factions. In addition, nearly 40 fighters of the Turkish-backed faction “Al-Majd Brigade” handed over their weapons in order to be allowed to leave for Idlib.
These reasons pushed Turkey to send its Syrian proxies away from the frontlines and to deploy Turkish troops and military posts within the area which spans Ain Issa camp and Abduki village, north of Al-Raqqah.
Hours ago, SOHR sources reported that the Turkish forces evacuated their positions in the north of Tal Abyad area in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. According to SOHR sources, the Turkish troops evacuated their positions in the vicinity of Tal Abyad, Sherkrak, Ali Bajiliyah, Kharab Rez and Kurmaza. No information has been reported so far about this surprising Turkish pullout.
