The factions shell Latakia rural with ground-to-ground missiles and the air defenses in “Hmeimim” thwart
The factions launched several ground-to-ground missiles targeting positions in the southern countryside of Latakia and the vicinity of Hmeimim airport, also violent explosions were heard in Latakia city, while the air defenses in the vicinity of the Russian Hmeimim base thwarted them. No information about casualties.
This morning, the factions also shelled villages in the Latakia countryside using several missiles, one of which fell in a house which caused material damage.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 19th of February 2020 that the factions targeted the regime forces in Latakia countryside near the Russian base of “Hmeimim”, where air force defenses thwarted several targets but no information about casualties so far.
This comes in the light of tension in the Russian – Turkish relations over Idlib.
