IED explosion leaves former opposition fighter dead in Daraa
Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
The Syrian Observatory has monitored a new assassination in Daraa governorate during the past hours, where a former fighter in the opposition factions died as a result of an improvised explosive device explosion in Daraa al-Balad city of Daraa.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, the targeted person was not a former fighter, but a former commander in “Al-Tawhid brigade” faction.
This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 315 attacks.
While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 201 persons, 41 of whom are civilians, including four women and three children, in addition to 103 members of regime forces, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.
35 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 16 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to six members of so-called “Fifth Corps” established by Russia.
