Backed by Russian airpower, regime forces recapture Saraqib city only four days after Turkish forces and proxy factions captured it

SOHR sources say that violent battles have renewed on several frontlines in Idlib countryside, between rebels and jihadist groups backed by Turkish firepower on the one hand, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, accompanied by intensive rocket fire by Turkish forces, and with intensive aerial bombardment by Russian jets.

Reliable source have informed SOHR that regime forces, backed by Russian airpower, managed to completely recapture the city of Saraqib, on Damascus-Aleppo international highway. While regime forces have continued combing the city amid attempts by rebels to regain the initiative.

The advance of regime forces in Saraqib follows the advance of rebels inside the city of Kafr Nabl after capturing several neighborhoods in addition to Horsh Kafr Nabl.

Meanwhile, several Turkish soldiers have been injured in rocket attack carried out by regime forces on their post in Qominas in Idlib countryside.

The Syrian Observatory reported earlier that rebels and jihadist factions, backed by Turkish artillery, tried to advance in southern countryside of Idlib, where fierce clashes took place at the entrances to the town of Kafr Nabl.

On the other hand, clashes continued on frontlines of the city of Saraqib between regime forces and loyalists and Iranian-backed militias on the one hand, rebels and jihadist factions on the other, amid advance of regime forces on the northeast frontlines.
