Artillery firepower paves the way for regime forces to advance into villages around Saraqeb

Regime forces are continuing their artillery shelling on areas around Saraqeb city, targeting Afes town, and Jubas and Tranbah villages. This shelling comes as regime forces recovered Saraqeb town this morning after the factions’ pullout when regime forces advanced into the city’s northern and southern parts.

On the other hand, SOHR sources have reported that Russian-backed regime forces achieved advances in the southern countryside of Idlib, represented by recovering Fulayfel and Al-Dar Al-Kaberah villages following fierce clashes with opposition rebels and jihadis.

Meanwhile, the number of today’s airstrikes carried out by Russian jets on places in Saraqeb and the southern countryside of Idlib, rose to 82. Also regime jets executed 117 raids.

Syrian Observatory activists documented many fatalities in the ranks of both warring forces as a result of today’s air and ground bombardment and clashes in rural Idlib and Hama. 13 jihadists among 21 opposition fighters were killed, in addition to the killing of 11 regime soldiers and loyalists.

SOHR has also documented the killing of nine civilians in Russian airstrikes on Al-Fu’ah town. Two other civilians were killed in Russian airstrikes on refugee camp nearby Anadan in Sahl Al-Ruj, west of Idlib city.
