Russian-backed regime forces continue attacking a village in north-west Saraqeb, amid factions’ ongoing attack west of the city
Fierce clashes are taking place in several areas in the eastern countryside of Idlib, between opposition factions and jihadi groups under a cover of Turkish artillery shelling and drones attacks on one hand, and regime forces and allied Syrian and non-Syrian militias with Russian air support on the other.
Fierce clashes are underway between both warring forces in Trenbeh area, west of Saraqeb, as a part of an attack launched by the factions earlier this morning. Meanwhile, regime forces are continuing attacking Afes village, north-west of Saraqeb. The clashes are accompanied by intense exchange of fire, amid confirmed casualties in the ranks of both sides.
Separately, opposition rebels targeted a regime jet with a guided missile. However, the missile missed its target. On the other hand, several people sustained injuries following rocket attacks by regime forces on Darat Izza and surrounding areas in the western countryside of Aleppo.
SOHR activists documented hours ago the killing of nine regime soldiers and loyalists in attacks by Turkish drones on regime positions and military posts in Saraqeb city and countryside, east of Idlib.
On the other hand, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that Russian military police withdrew from Saraqeb, since they entered the city yesterday. According to SOHR sources, the Russians objected to yesterday’s attack by regime-backed militias, believed to be Iranians or of the Lebanese Hezbollah, on Turkish troops nearby Saraqeb.
Meanwhile, Turkish intensive artillery fire and drones attacks paved the way for opposition factions and jihadi groups to unleash fierce attack on areas nearby Saraqeb city east of Idlib. The clashes are concentrated in Trenbeh area, west of Saraqeb, and nearby Afes area, north of the city.
Separately, fierce clashes are underway between regime forces and opposition factions , in Al-Ankawi and Sarmaniyah in Sahl Al-Ghab, in a bid by Syrian regime to advance into the area. Confirmed information has received about fall of fatalities among both warring forces.
