Dozens of airstrikes target towns and villages of Jabal al-Zawiya as regime forces launch new ground offensive, at time Putin-Erdogan meeting take place

Activists have told the Syrian Observatory that intensive airstrikes have renewed on various areas in Jabal al-Zawiya in Idlib province.

Regime and Russian jets have consecutively carried out dozens of raids since the morning targeting towns and villages in Jabal al-Zawiya.

While regime forces launched a new ground offensive backed by loyalists on the frontlines of Al-Fatira and Fleifel, where violent clashes took place with opposition factions and jihadists, exchanging intenseive shelling. Casualties have been reported among both sides.

The Syrian Observatory documented this morning more casualties as a result of the massacre carried out by jets targeting concentrations of displaced persons near the town of Ma’rat Misrin in Idlib countryside.

The death toll of displaced persons who have been killed in Russian airstrikes on Thursday morning has risen to 15, including a child and six women.

The death toll is expected to rise as there are at least 18 wounded, some are seriously injured. More fatalities have been reported.

Meanwhile, rescue teams searches for missing persons have continued from under the rubble.

It is worth mentioning that all those killed were displaced persons from rural Hama and Aleppo, as well as displaced persons from other areas of Idlib province.
