Rebels’ intensive shelling force regime forces to retreat from positions gained earlier near Kafr Nabl with stoppage of airstrikes for 57 hours
SOHR sources say that regime forces withdrew from Ma’arat Mkhiss and Al-Buriij near Kafr Nabl, after advancing on Saturday without resistance.
The withdrawal followed heavy shelling carried out by opposition factions and jihadist groups on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, tense calm continues preavailling throughout “Putin-Erdogan” area, with the ceasefire coming into effect for the third day in a row. Aerial operations are still suspended.
The Syrian Observatory has monitored this morning a Turkish drone flying over the Syrian border with Iskenderun region in Idlib countryside.
Observatory sources reported yesterday evening that tense calm continued throughout the area of “Putin-Erdogan” with stoppage of Russian and regime airstrikes for 48 hours. The calm interrupted by shelling carried out by regime forces with some 25 shells targeting the village of Al-Bara, Safohin and Al-Fatira in rural Idlib.
