Regime forces continue removing soil barriers blocking M4, clearing the way for Turkey – Russia joint patrols

Syrian Observatory activists say that regime forces are still removing soil barriers blocking the Aleppo – Damascus international highway (M4), in their controlled areas in Latakia countryside. This development comes as a part of preparations for joint patrols between Turkish and Russian forces which are supposed to be run on the M4 highway on March 15.

The patrols are expected to start from Tarnabah village, west of Saraqeb, to Ain Hoor in Latakia countryside.

Earlier this morning, SOHR sources reported that regime forces started removing soil barriers near the junction in Kafrya village, which were put on Aleppo – Latakia international highway (M4) in 2012, clearing the way for Turkey – Russia patrols and opening the highway towards Aleppo. Other barricades on the highway are being lift clearing the way towards Ain Al-Hur in Latakia countryside near the administrative border with Idlib.
