New armed fight erupts among Turkish-backed factions in Aleppo’s Azaz

Syrian Observatory sources say that fierce clashes erupted in Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, between a group of the Turkish-backed faction “Asifat al-Shamal” and other fighters from Menagh area. The clashes left casualties and caused a state of panic among civilians there. The reasons behind this fighting have yet to be known.

On February 20, clashes took place with machineguns between members of the Turkish-backed factions today, on the road connecting the villages of Sekkariyyeh Kabira and Jub Samaan in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo.

According to sources of the Syrian Observatory, members of Ahrar al-Sham attacked other members of “Jaysh al-Ahfad”, after a dispute over sheep smuggling to areas controlled by the Kurdish forces north of Aleppo, during which at least two members of Jaysh al-Ahfad were killed and others on both parties were wounded.
