ISIS resurgence: ISIS cells clash with regime forces and killing four civilians in Aleppo desert

SOHR sources say that clashes broke out yesterday in the desert of Aleppo, between an armed group of Islamic State cells and regime forces, in the areas of Hazm al-Sar and Al-Ja’ar. ISIS cells headed towards the villages of Abu Mayal and Mikhlif, killing several civilians and abducting two pick-up cars. The bodies of the two drivers were found yesterday, bringing the civilian death toll to four.

The death toll since late March 24 to date has risen. The Syrian Observatory documented the death of at least 358 members of regime forces and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian citizens, including at least two Russians.

In addition to 67 members of Iranian-backed militias of non-Syrian citizens, all were killed in ISIS attacks, IEDs and ambushes in the western Euphrates, and the desert of Deir ez-Zor, Homs and Sweida.

SOHR also confirmed the death of four civilians working in the gas fields as a result of the group’s attacks, and two shepherds were killed in the group’s attacks,

The Syrian Observatory also documented the death of 119 members of Islamic State, during the same period, in attacks, bombings and targets.
