Unknown assailants shoot regime military official north of Homs and regime intelligence arrest two suspects

Homs Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that unknown assailants opened fire yesterday on a car, which an official of the regime military security was traveling in, on the road between Kafr Laha and Maryamin in the  northern countryside of Homs. The attack resulted in the injury of the regime official.

According to reliable SOHR sources, regime intelligence arrested two persons from their houses in Kafr Laha village this morning for being suspected of carrying out yesterday’s assassination attempt.

Four days ago, Observatory sources reported that tension continued in northern countryside of Homs in light of the regime security campaign.

During the past 48 hours, regime security services carried out intensive security raids on Al-Houla, Tal Thahab, Kafr Laha, Talbiseh and other areas north of Homs, arresting more than 55 civilians and former fighters of opposition factions who settled their security situation with the regime.

The raids were accompanied by heavy gunfire while regime forces were on high alert and strengthened their checkpoints and set up temporary checkpoints in those areas.
